How can mushrooms help us magically lose those extra Christmas pounds still hanging around? Well, they make a magnificent red meat replacement in many of the dishes we routinely cook up. Replacing the red meat with 50% diced shroom can significantly cut calories. Next time you’re making tacos or mid-week spaghetti bolognese dice up some Portobello or button mushrooms, I guarantee it will taste amazing. Another little-added bonus, mushrooms are much cheaper than red meat AND they will also give you a great dose of selenium, potassium, vitamin D and more. Sounds like magic to me!
